The Word
Hello everyone,
How are you today? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.
Primary Text: Mark 5v35-36
“For in Him we live, and move, and have our being; ...” Acts 17v28 (KJV)
What is our attitude to the Word of God? Are we always “but”ing it or making excuses not to follow God’s commands? When Jesus was tempted in the wilderness by the devil and asked to turn stone into bread at a point when He was hungry said: “It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.” (Matthew 4v4). Jeremiah said: “Your words were found, and I ate them; and Your words were to me a joy and the rejoicing of my heart, for I am called by Your name, O Lord God of hosts.” (Jeremiah 15v16). Our walk with God is a walk of faith. And faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of God (Romans 10v17). Whenever you are in a situation, we should remember, what does the Word say about this? Whether in affliction, or pain, in joy, or trials, in times of plenty, or in times of making a decision, we should always remember the Word of God.
Supplementary Text
“Remember how the LORD your God led you through the wilderness for these forty years, humbling you and testing you to prove your character, and to find out whether or not you would obey His commands. Yes, He humbled you by letting you go hungry and then feeding you with manna, a food previously unknown to you and your ancestors. He did it to teach you that people do not live by bread alone; rather, we live by every word that comes from the mouth of the LORD. For all these forty years your clothes didn’t wear out, and your feet didn’t blister or swell. Think about it: Just as a parent disciplines a child, the LORD your God disciplines you for your own good. “So obey the commands of the LORD your God by walking in His ways and fearing Him.” Deuteronomy 8v2-6 (NLT)
Father, I thank You so much for Your Word, which is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that I may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works in Jesus name, amen.
