His Honor
Hello
everyone,
How
are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.
Primary Text
“A
son honors his father, and a servant his master. If then I am a Father, where
is My honor? And if I am a Master, where is the [reverent] fear due Me? says
the Lord of hosts to you, O priests, who despise My name. You say, How and in
what way have we despised Your name?” Malachi 1v6 (AMP)
Another
lesson we can learn from those who were rejected by God is on honor. The
Almighty God deserves to be honored, and He would not tolerate anything taking
His place. Eli the priest was someone who failed on this account (see narration
below). Child of God are you dishonoring God? Have you put someone, or
something above Him, maybe your spouse, children, parents, job, money …?
Consider your ways and repent.
Supplementary Text
“Now a man of God came to Eli and said
to him, “This is what the LORD says: ‘Did I not clearly reveal myself to your
ancestor’s family when they were in Egypt under Pharaoh? I chose your ancestor
out of all the tribes of Israel to be My priest, to go up to My altar, to burn
incense, and to wear an ephod in My presence. I also gave your ancestor’s
family all the food offerings presented by the Israelites. Why do you scorn My
sacrifice and offering that I prescribed for My dwelling? Why do you honor your
sons more than Me by fattening yourselves on the choice parts of every offering
made by My people Israel?’ “Therefore the LORD, the God of Israel, declares: ‘I
promised that members of your family would minister before Me forever.’ But now
the LORD declares: ‘Far be it from Me! Those who honor Me I will honor, but
those who despise Me will be disdained.” 1 Samuel 2v27-30 (NIV)
Prayer
Heavenly
Father, we thank You for Your Word. My God, in anyway I might have or am
dishonoring You, have mercy on me. Don’t put me off O Lord. Please shine your
light on the situation. I repent of it in Jesus name, amen.
