Destroying the devil’s works

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.

Primary Text
“The one who does what is right is righteous, just as He is righteous. The one who does what is sinful us of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work. No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God’s seed remains in them; they cannot go on sinning, because they have been born of God. This is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not God’s child, nor is anyone who does not love their brother and sister.” 1 John 3v8-10 (NIV)

In considering our Lord Jesus Christ, we see that He came to give us the abundant life! John 10v10 (AMP) tells us that  “The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).” We find that when Jesus was on earth, He brought joy, peace, comfort, hope – in opposition to the things that the enemy does – and continues to do so. God is good and His mercies endure forever. Acts 10v38 (AMP) says “How God anointed and consecrated Jesus of Nazareth with the [Holy] Spirit and with strength and ability and power; how He went about doing good and, in particular, curing all who were harassed and oppressed by [the power of] the devil, for God was with Him.” You and I as children of God continue this work of doing good through the power of God that is at work in us. The Lord Jesus said before He left that “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on Me, the works that I shall do shall he also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto My Father” (John 14v12, KJV).

Prayer

Father we thank You for who You are and all that You have done. Thank You because we believe in and receive Your Son Jesus we have been made sons of God. We thank You for the power to do greater works than that which our Lord Jesus did because we believe in Him. We ask for great grace, courage and boldness to step out in faith and do those good works which You before ordained that we work in. We thank You for all this in Jesus name, amen.
