Faith in God – In His Wisdom (3)

Dearly beloved, I trust this finds you well and bubbling in the Lord. We continue our study on 2 Timothy 1v5 (AMPC), where Paul writes to Timothy that “I am calling up memories of your sincere and unqualified faith (the leaning of your entire personality on God in Christ in absolute trust and confidence in His power, wisdom, and goodness), [a faith] that first lived permanently in [the heart of] your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice and now, I am [fully] persuaded, [dwells] in you also].”

Child of God, we need to have absolute trust and confidence in the wisdom of God. The Bible lets us know that Christ’s crucifixion is an expression of God’s wisdom and power. We need to preach this good news, that Christ came to die for all men and by believing in Him we are saved. We shouldn’t be shy or doubt that. 1 Corinthians 1v18-24 (NIV) says “For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. For it is written: “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise; the intelligence of the intelligent I will frustrate.” Where is the wise person? Where is the teacher of the law? Where is the philosopher of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not know him, God was pleased through the foolishness of what was preached to save those who believe. Jews demand signs and Greeks look for wisdom, but we preach Christ crucified: a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles, but to those whom God has called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.”

Prayer
Father, we thank You for You reign and You are the only wise God. We thank You for sending Your Son Jesus to die for us. We are grateful. We declare that we will not be ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone who believes. We thank You and honour You o God, in Jesus name we pray, amen.
