Faith in God – In His Goodness (3)

Dearly beloved, I trust this finds you well and bubbling in the Lord. We finish for now our study on 2 Timothy 1v5 (AMPC), where Paul writes to Timothy that “I am calling up memories of your sincere and unqualified faith (the leaning of your entire personality on God in Christ in absolute trust and confidence in His power, wisdom, and goodness), [a faith] that first lived permanently in [the heart of] your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice and now, I am [fully] persuaded, [dwells] in you also].”

God is good, and we ought to have absolute trust and confidence not only in His power and His wisdom, but also in His goodness. Trusting in the goodness of the Lord encourages us to go on and not give up. Psalm 27v13-14 (AMPC) says “[What, what would have become of me] had I not believed that I would see the Lord’s goodness in the land of the living! Wait and hope for and expect the Lord; be brave and of good courage and let your heart be stout and enduring. Yes, wait for and hope for and expect the Lord.” Beloved, believe in the Lord’s goodness regardless of what you are going to – it will keep you. The Message Bible puts it this way: “I’m sure now I’ll see God’s goodness in the exuberant earth. Stay with God! Take heart. Don’t quit. I’ll say it again: Stay with God.” Amen. Be encouraged always to stay with God.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, we thank You because You are good. For many of us, we have experienced Your goodness and continue to experience it. You are a good Father and we are grateful. We put our trust in Your power, Your wisdom and Your goodness and we know that we are blessed for doing that. Help us to be a light now more than ever before, in Jesus name, amen.
