Faith!
Hello
everyone,
How
are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. We thank God
for His goodness, faithfulness, lovingkindness and tendermercies.
Primary Text
“To
another faith by the same Spirit; …” 1 Corinthians 12v9 (KJV)
“To
another [wonder-working] faith by the same [Holy] Spirit, …” 1 Corinthians 12v9
(AMP)
“He
gives special faith to another, …” 1 Corinthians 12v9 (TLB)
As
Christians, we have a measure of faith. For example, we are saved through
faith. Ephesians 2v8 (NIV) saying “For it is by grace you have been saved,
through faith – and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-”
Hebrews 11 is the famous chapter on faith, and it tells us “Now faith is the
assurance (the confirmation, the title deed) of the things [we] hope for, being
the proof of things [we] do not see and the conviction of their reality [faith
perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses]… But without faith
it is impossible to please and be satisfactory to Him. For whoever would come
near to God must [necessarily] believe that God exists and that He is the
rewarder of those who earnestly and diligently seek Him [out].” Hebrews
1v1&6 (AMP). Indeed without faith, we cannot please God. Hebrews 11 shows
us how through faith great exploits were achieved by men and women of old. In
the case of Moses, it is written that “By faith Moses’ parents hid him for
three months after he was born, because they saw he was no ordinary child, and
they were not afraid of the king’s edict. By faith Moses, when he had grown up,
refused to be known as the son of Pharaoh’s daughter. He chose to be mistreated
along with the people of God rather than to enjoy the fleeting pleasures of
sin. He regarded disgrace for the sake of Christ as of greater value than the
treasures of Egypt, because he was looking ahead to his reward. By faith he
left Egypt, not fearing the king’s anger; he persevered because he saw Him who
is invisible.” Hebrews 11v23-27 (NIV). We too can look over our lives and see
how through faith, relying and trusting in God, in His Word, things that we had
hoped for and expected had come to pass.
Supplementary Text
“And
Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. For verily I say unto you,
That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast
into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those
things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe
that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. And when ye stand praying,
forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven
may forgive you your trespasses.” Mark 11v22-25 (KJV)
Prayer
Heavenly
Father, we thank You for Your word. We thank You for the faith we have in You.
We pray for the gift of special faith, faith to believe You beyond any human
