The Gift of the Working of Miracles (3)
Hello
everyone,
How
are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.
Primary Text
“To
another the working of miracles; …” 1 Corinthians 12v10 (KJV)
“He
gives one person the power to perform miracles, …” 1 Corinthians 12v10 (NLT)
The
Holy Spirit might give the gift of the working of miracles in a situation
whereby satanic obstructions need to be removed. I don’t know if you have or
know someone who has encountered such a situation before where the enemy was
putting up obstructions and the Lord used this gift to bring deliverance and
clarity to the situation. Acts 13v6-12 gives the example of where Paul and Barnabas
were once sent for by a governor who wanted to hear the word of God. But a
sorcerer wanted to turn this governor from the faith. Paul who was filled with
the Holy Spirit and through the power of the Spirit was able to make the
sorcerer blind for sometime and when “… the proconsul saw what had happened, he
believed, for he was amazed at the teaching of the Lord.” (Acts 13v12, NIV).
God also used different giftings and as well the working of miracles through
His servant Elisha, to help save the Israelites from the plans of the king of
Syria (Aram).
Supplementary Text
“Now
the king of Aram was at war with Israel. After conferring with his officers, he
said, “I will set up my camp in such and such a place.” The man of God sent
word to the king of Israel: Beware of passing that place, because the Arameans
are going down there.” So the king of Israel checked on the place indicated by
the man of God. Time and again Elisha warned the king, so that he was on his
guard in such places.” 2 Kings 6v8-9 (NIV) [continued till verse 22]
