For the glory of His name (2)

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.

Primary Text
“With this in view we constantly pray for you, that our God may deem and count you worthy of [your] calling and [His] every gracious purpose of goodness, and with power may complete in [your] every particular work of faith (faith which is that leaning of the whole human personality on God in absolute trust and confidence in His power, wisdom, and goodness). Thus may the name of our Lord Jesus Christ be glorified and become more glorious through and in you, and may you [also be glorified] in Him according to the grace (favor and blessing) of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One).” 2 Thessalonians 1v 11-12 (AMP)

God has good works which He has prepared for us to do. Through these works as well, the name of the Lord will be glorified. Ephesians 2v10 (AMP) says “For we are God’s [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live].” Once someone call Jesus good Master, and He said “Why do you call Me [essentially and perfectly morally good? No one is [essentially and perfectly morally good] – except God only” (Luke 18v19, AMP). But as children of God and with His Spirit in us, the Spirit produces goodness through us. Amen. Indeed one of the evidence that the Spirit of God in one’s life produces is goodness (Galatians 5v22). And so we are told “Don’t hide your light! Let it shine for all; let your good deeds glow for all to see, so that they will praise your heavenly Father” (Matthew 5v16, TLB), for we are the light of the world.

Prayer
Father, we thank You and we honor You for the good works and the good life You predestined for us to live. We pray from 2 Thessalonians 1v11-12 (NLT) that You O God will enable us to live a life worthy of Your call. May You give us the power to accomplish all the good things our faith prompts us to do so that the name of our Lord Jesus will be honored because of the way we live and that we will be honored along with Him. We thank You for the grace of God and our Lord Jesus Christ which makes all this possible, in Jesus name we pray, amen.
