The delusion of the deceived (2)
Hello everyone,
How are you doing on
this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.
Primary Text
“Even him, whose
coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying
wonders, And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish;
because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And
for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a
lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure
in unrighteousness.” 2 Thessalonians 2v9-12 (KJV)
A delusion can be
seen as “a mistaken or misleading opinion, idea, belief, etc (http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/delusion?s=t).
Imagine a situation where you come to someone and you tell them the truth and
they keep insisting that it is not true, and then you tell them an untruth and
they readily accept that. In a sense that’s what happens to those who refuse to
accept or love the truth. Because they refused to love the truth, God sent them
a strong delusion that they should believe a lie. We see though that those who
do not believe the truth have the character trait that they have pleasure in
unrighteousness. The Bible says:
Supplementary Text
“For God so loved the
world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not
perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to
condemn the world, but to save the world through Him. Whoever believes in Him
is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because
they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. This is the
verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of
light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light,
and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed. But
whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly
that what they have done has been done in the sight of God.” John 3v16-21 (NIV)
Prayer

for Your Word this day and I pray that I will never be given to delusions in
