The preaching of the Gospel
Hello everyone,
How are you doing on
this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.
Primary Text
“But we ought always
to thank God for you, brothers and sisters loved by the Lord, because God chose
you as firstfruits to be saved through the sanctifying work of the Spirit and
through belief in the truth. He called you to this through our gospel, that you
might share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.” 2 Thessalonians 2v13-14
(NIV)
Romans 1v16-19 (NIV)
says “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that
brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the
Gentile. For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed – a
righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: “The
righteous will live by faith.” The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven
against all the godlessness and wickedness of people, who suppress the truth by
their wickedness, since what may be known about God is plain to them, because
God has made it plain to them.” There are those to whom the truth is revealed
through the gospel, and they believe it, they embrace it, they love it, and
keep their faith and trust in God. Not everyone does though. But we thank God
for the gospel because through this salvation is revealed to one and all. We also
thank God because we know that “For there is no difference between Jew and
Gentile – the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on Him,
for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”” (Romans
10v12-13, NIV).
Supplementary Text
“For while Jews
[demandingly] ask for signs and miracles and Greeks pursue philosophy and wisdom,
We preach Christ (the Messiah) crucified, [preaching which] to the Jews is a
scandal and an offensive stumbling block [that springs a snare or trap], and to
the Gentiles it is absurd and utterly unphilosophical nonsense. But to those
who are called, whether Jew or Greek (Gentile), Christ [is] the Power of God
and the Wisdom of God. [This is] because the foolish thing [that has its source
in] God is wiser than men, and the weak thing [that springs] from God is
stronger than men.” 1 Corinthians 1v22-25 (AMP)
Prayer
Father we thank You
for the glorious gospel, the good news. We pray for those that do not know You,
that You will send labourers to them, for we know that the harvest is plenteous
but the labourers are few. Thank You Lord in Jesus name, amen.
Perhaps you do not
know the Lord today and You want to come into this wonderful relationship with
Him. The Bible says:
“That if you confess with your mouth,
“Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead,
you will be saved.
For it is with your heart that you
believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are
saved.” Romans 10v9-10
You can say this prayer: Heavenly
Father, I come to You today, confessing that I am a sinner. I am sorry for all
that I have done and ask that You forgive me for all of my sins and cleanse me
from all unrighteousness. Lord Jesus, I ask that You be Lord and Saviour over
my life. I believe that You came to die for my sins, and that God raised You
from the dead. Thank You Father for translating me out of the kingdom of
darkness into the Kingdom of Your dear Son. Thank You for sealing me with Your
Holy Spirit of promise. Please keep me till the end in You, and may Your Name
alone be glorified in my life, in Jesus name I pray, amen.
If you said this prayer today, know
that you are now a child of God and that there is much jubilation in heaven
because of you. Begin to attend a Bible-believing church, and keep the faith!
Welcome into God’s family.
