Stand firm
Hello everyone,
How are you doing on
this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. We thank God for the amazing
gift of salvation and the hope we have not only in this world but in that which
is to come.
Primary Text
“Therefore, brethren,
stand fast, …” 2 Thessalonians 2v15 (KJV)
“So then, brothers
and sisters, stand firm…” 2 Thessalonians 2v15 (NIV)
Beloved, I don’t know
what you are going through this day, but today’s encouragement is just to say
stand fast, stay strong, don’t be moved by what you see or don’t see; what
others do or do not do. Remember that “These troubles and sufferings of ours
are, after all, quite small and won’t last very long. Yet this short time of
distress will result in God’s richest blessing upon forever and ever!” (2
Corinthians 4v17, TLB). Don’t be discouraged, don’t be disheartened, we serve a
living God who is able to keep us from falling. Indeed, we thank God that He is
able to make us faithful and steadfast. 2 Corinthians 1v21 (AMP) says “But it
is God Who confirms and makes us steadfast and establishes us [in joint
fellowship] with you in Christ, and has consecrated and anointed us [enduing us
with the gifts of the Holy Spirit];” Hallelujah. Therefore stand firm and fast
in the faith that you have begun in. Continue to abound in love and don’t grow
weary in well doing. 1 Corinthians 15v58 (AMP) serving as a reminder:
“Therefore, my beloved brethren, be firm (steadfast), immovable, always
abounding in the work of the Lord [always being superior, excelling, doing more
than enough in the service of the Lord], knowing and being continually aware
that your labor in the Lord is not futile [it is never wasted or to no
purpose].” 2 Corinthians 1:21
Supplementary Text
“Whatever happens,
conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ. Then, whether I
come and see you or only hear about you in my absence, I will know that you
stand firm in the one Spirit, striving together as one for the faith of the
gospel” Philippians 1v27 (NIV).
Prayer
Father I thank You
for Your faithfulness to us. We pray that You would help us to stand firm, to
remain steadfast and immovable, we pray that You will strengthen us with might
by Your Spirit in the inner man, that we would run this race with joy, always
abounding in love and in the work of God. When You come back Lord, let none of
us be found wanting in Jesus name, amen.
