Two Comings – who do you choose to believe?
Hello everyone,
How are you doing on
this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.
Primary Text
“The coming of the
lawless one will be in accordance with how Satan works. He will use all sorts
of displays of power through signs and wonders that serve the lie, and all the
ways that wickedness deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they
refused to love the truth and so be saved.” 2 Thessalonians 2v9-10 (NIV)
The verses above
speak of the coming of the antichrist. Now the Bible tells us in 2 Thessalonians
2v7 that the work of iniquity, rebellion and what this person would do has
already begun but he himself at some point would come. When he comes, he will
do the works of Satan and would deceive people – people who are already
perishing because they did not welcome the Truth and refused to love it that
they may be saved. While the enemy has come to kill, steal and destroy, Jesus
came that we might have life and life more abundantly (John 10v10). His coming
was not to condemn man but that those who believe Him should be saved. John
3v16-21 (NIV) tells us that “For God so loved the world that He gave His one
and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal
life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to
save the world through Him. Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but
whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed
in the name of God’s one and only Son. This is the verdict: Light has come into
the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were
evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light
for fear that their deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes
into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has
been done in the sight of God.” The question now remains that to which teaching
shall ye yield. To the deceptive one which leads to destruction or the Truth
which leads to everlasting life?
Supplementary Text
“The coming [of the
lawless one, the antichrist] is through the activity and working of Satan and
will be attended by great power and with all sorts of [pretended] miracles and
signs and delusive marvels – [all of them] lying wonders – And by unlimited
seduction to evil and with all wicked deception for those who are perishing
(going to perdition) because they did not welcome the Truth but refused to love
it that they might be saved.” 2 Thessalonians 2v9-10 (AMP)
Prayer
Father we thank You.
We bless You and glorify You. Thank You for drawing me to Yourself. We pray for
our family, friends and loved ones who still refuse to welcome and love the
Word. We pray that every blindness of mind would be removed. We pray that the
light of the Gospel may shine through into their hearts and that they would repent
and accept the Lord Jesus Christ. This we ask in Jesus name, amen.
