An Open Door!
Hello
everyone,
How
are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.
Primary Text
“And
to the angel (messenger) of the assembly (church) in Philadelphia write: These
are the words of the Holy One, the True One, He Who has the key of David, Who
opens and no one shall shut, Who shuts and no one shall open: I know your
[record of] works and what you are doing...” Revelations 3v7-8 (AMP)
Our Lord Jesus
introduces Himself as the One who is holy and true; the One who has the keys of
David; the One who opens and no man can shut and who shuts and no man can open.
Indeed He is worthy of all honour and adoration and He has the final say! Do
you know that God has a record of the things that we do? He does. On the one
hand, we know that we would receive a reward for the things that we have done
in our bodies – whether good or bad. On the other hand, we also know that “For God is not unfair. How can he forget
your hard work for him, or forget the way you used to show your love for
him—and still do—by helping his children? And we are anxious that you keep
right on loving others as long as life lasts, so that you will get your full
reward.” (Hebrews 6v10-11, TLB). And so we are encouraged in 1 Corinthians
15v58 (AMP) “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be firm (steadfast), immovable,
always abounding in the work of the Lord [always being superior, exceling,
doing more than enough in the service of the Lord], knowing and being
continually aware that your labour in the Lord is not futile [it is never
wasted or to no purpose].”
Prayer
Father
in the name of Jesus, we thank You so very much for Your Word. We thank You
because You hold the key of David, and You are the One who openeth a door and
no man shutteth it, and shutteth a door and no man openeth it. We are praying
for open doors for the gospel to be preached in the earth in Jesus name, amen.
We are praying for open doors to those who are down, to the oppressed, to those
in authority, to the broken hearted in Jesus name, amen. We also pray that You
will open doors for effectual service for us, service that would cause men to
glorify Your name and be turned to You in Jesus name, amen. We pray that where
our strength is small, that You will strengthen us, and preserve us in You till
the end in Jesus name we pray, amen.
