Overcomers!
Hello
everyone,
How
are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. We thank God
for His amazing love and care for us.
Primary Text:
“Thou
hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; and they
shall walk with Me in white: for they are worthy. He that overcometh, the same
shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the
book of life, but I will confess his name before My Father, and before His
angels. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the
churches.” Revelations 3v4-6 (KJV)
Beloved,
let’s think and look ahead. Is your name written in the Book of life? Or is it
on the verge of being erased? Repent and turn back to God! Now, even in the
church in Sardis, which was said to be alive but dead, there were still some
that the Lord identified as not having soiled their clothes. Beloved, don’t be
disillusioned to think everyone is sinning and getting away with it, and you
are all in the same boat. No – you can stand out and stand for the truth. We
will all individually give an account for how we lived our lives: “So then
every one of us shall give account of himself to God (Romans 14v12, KJV), so “…
I beg you to live the way God’s people should live, because He chose you to be
His” (Ephesians 4v1, ERV). And as you see in the Church in Sardis, there are
those whose garments are still white – basically, it is possible to overcome
even when all others seem not to be. Don’t be afraid to stand out and stand for
the truth. If you are finding it hard at the moment, ask for God to connect you
to godly friends. Remember, Elijah thought he was the only one left who had not
kneeled to Baal, but God said there were seven thousand he had reserved who had
not done so (1 Kings 19v14-18).
Prayer
Father,
we thank You for Your Word this day. We thank You for what the Spirit is saying
to the Church. We thank You for the Book of life. We ask that You keep us by
Your power. We thank You for saving us by grace, and pray we never take this
grace for granted. Give us godly friends o God who can sharpen us. Keep us till
the end in You, and let Your name alone be glorified in our lives in Jesus name
we pray, amen.
