July 10th, 2009 - Where are you looking? (4)

Hello everyone,
How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. We thank God for His mercies, His protection, and if we look back on our lives, how He has been protecting and guiding us. One of the greatest mistakes anyone can make, is to turn from putting their trust in God to putting it in man. To think that a person can become your sustenance, is a big error. The Bible says in Jeremiah 17v5-7 that:

“Thus says the Lord: Cursed [with great evil] is the strong man who trusts in and relies on frail man, making weak [human] flesh his arm, and whose mind and heart turn aside from the Lord.

For he shall be like a shrub or a person naked and destitute in the desert; and he shall not see any good come, but shall dwell in the parched places in the wilderness, in an uninhabited salt land.

[Most] blessed is the man who believes in, trusts in, and relies on the Lord, and whose hope and confidence the Lord is.” (Amplified Bible)

Don’t put your confidence in man. Man will fail you. Like verse 6 says, when you divert your trust from God to man, you become like a person naked and destitute in the desert, you become exposed to very harsh weathers and conditions; you lose the ability to see good come, and it would seem as though you are constantly in unfruitful land. So, don’t put your trust in man, but in God, and may He continually be your guide and your trust.
Have a very blessed day.

Dearest Heavenly Father,

We thank You for Your Word o Lord. We thank You for this encouragement. We pray that in anyway we have made people or man or ourselves our confidence, please forgive us in Jesus name, amen.
