A wise man
Hello everyone,
How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. We thank God for His grace, His love and His constant care for us. Now, who is a wise person? What does the character of a wise person look like? How do we distinguish a wise man from the rest? - How much of a conversation that you’ve been involved in can you repeat? Someone once called my attention to that. You know, two people can be involved in a conversation with a third person, and one person leaves having learnt something new, and the other person without any changes being made. It now becomes a case of – weren’t you there. That’s what Mr so, so and so was telling us about. – But then the person who wasn’t really listening, loses out. One mark of a wise man that distinguishes him, is his attitude towards learning, and what he hears.
“The heart of the prudent getteth knowledge; and the ear of the wise seeketh knowledge.” Proverbs 18v15
- His ear seeks knowledge,
“A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels:” Proverbs 1v5
- When he hears, he will increase learning
“Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser: teach a just man, and he will increase in learning.” Proverbs 9v9
- When he receives instruction, he becomes even wiser.
How open are you to learning new things? How open are you to instruction? How open are you to seeking new ways of doing things? Make a concerted effort to seek for knowledge, and be determined to increase in learning from what you hear.
