Where are you looking? (2)

Hello everyone,
How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. Again let’s consider where we looking at? Looking at for strength, encouragement, motivation, love.... If we look at ourselves through the eyes of self, it would lead to failure.
Apart from Gideon, another example of people who looked at their own self, and led to failure, are the 10 spies who went to spy out the land of Canaan. From their own example, we see that failing to launch out due to looking at self, might have repercussions, not just on you, but for others around you. The Bible says of the spies that:

“And they brought up an evil report of the land which they had searched unto the children of Israel, saying, The land, through which we have gone to search it, is a land that eateth up the inhabitants thereof: and all the people we saw in it are men of a great stature.
And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.”Numbers 13v32-33

In this situation, we find that due to the evil report of the 10 spies:
1. The children of Israel themselves became discouraged and would not move forward
2. The children of Israel ended up wandering in the wilderness, none of that generation – apart from Joshua and Caleb - entering the promised land

When you don’t look at self then:
1. You encourage others to also look to God and move forward
2. You fulfil your destiny and achieve your purpose in life e.g. Joshua ended up leading the children of Israel into the promise land.

Don’t say what others are saying. Be the encourager in the midst of people. Yes, the situation may look dire, but what does God say about the matter. He says it is well. He says for with God nothing shall be impossible. Look through Scripture and find words of encouragement and may God give us all the courage to encourage in Jesus name, amen.
