Walking with who?
Hello everyone,
How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. Have you ever noticed that when you begin to bond with a particular person or group of people for a while, you begin to have common terminologies which you both or all share; certain jokes only known within your clique; a common eating place; or even shared goals. That is why it is very important to watch who you are walking with, who you are bonding with, who you are keeping company with. The Bible says wisdom is profitable to direct (Ecclesiastes 10v10), and the Bible is full of wisdom for us. Why should you watch the company you keep? Because it would determine if you would be wise or be destroyed. The Bible says in Proverbs 13v20 that:
“He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.” (KJV)
“Wise friends make you wise, but you hurt yourself by going around with fools.” (Contemporary English Version)
“Spend time with the wise and you will become wise, but the friends of fools will suffer.” (New Century Version)
If you see something burning with fire coming out of it, you would not put your hand into it, at least not intentionally. But the Bible is saying that if you keep company with fools, you shall be destroyed. So let’s watch who we are keeping company with. If you want to be wise, seek out those who are wise, and spend time with them. Be friends with them. And may you be blessed in so doing in Jesus name, amen.
