His Presence (4)

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. As believers, we have the Holy Spirit of God, the third Person in the Trinity to dwell with us and be in us (John 14v17). We also know that if a man loves the Lord Jesus, he will keep his words, and the Father will love him, and they will come unto him, and make their abode with him (John 14v23). Isn’t that amazing to have God with us, and the Word tells us that in the presence of God there is fullness of God, and at His right hand are pleasures evermore (Psalm 16v11). Now, the Lord Jesus told His disciples that:

Primary Text: Luke 24v49
“And, behold, I send the promise of My Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.” Luke 24v49 (KJV)

“And behold, I will send forth upon you what My Father has promised; but remain in the city [Jerusalem] until you are clothed with power from on high.” Luke 24v49 (AMP)

“And now I will send the Holy Spirit, just as My Father promised. But stay here in the city until the Holy Spirit comes and fills you with power from heaven.” Luke 24v49 (NLT)

“What comes next is very important: I am sending what My Father promised you, so stay here in the city until He arrives, until you’re equipped with power from on high.” Luke 24v49 (MSG)

“I will send you what My Father has promised, but you must stay in Jerusalem until you have received that power from heaven.” Luke 24v49 (NCV)

The Holy Spirit in the life of a believer is very important. In fact if you do not have the Spirit of Christ, you are none of His (Romans 8v9). Jesus, when He was baptized, had the Holy Ghost descend upon Him as a dove (Luke 3v22), afterwards, He was led by the Spirit to be tempted by the devil (Matthew 4v1). Again, we see how Jesus spoke of how “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He hath anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He hath sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord” (Luke 4v18-19). We receive power, and are endued with power by the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit marks us as being one of Christ’s, and leads us and helps us to live overcoming lives as believers (Romans 8v13). The wonderful thing is that God gives His Spirit to those who ask Him (Luke 11v13).

Supplementary Text:
“And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith He, ye have heard of Me.” Acts 1v4 (KJV)

“How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with Him.” Acts 10v38 (KJV)

“So I say to you, Ask and keep on asking and it shall be given you; seek and keep on seeking and you shall find; knock and keep on knocking and the door shall be opened to you. For everyone who asks and keeps on asking receives; and he who seeks and keeps on seeking finds; and to him who knocks and keeps on knocking, the door shall be opened. What father among you, if his son asks for a loaf of bread, will give him a stone; or if he asks for a fish, will instead of a fish give him a serpent? Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion? If you then, evil as you are, know how to give good gifts [gifts that are to their advantage] to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask and continue to ask Him!” Luke 11v9-13 (AMP)

Prayer
Father, we thank You for Your Word, for Your plans, and for Your Spirit. Father, we ask for a fresh anointing of Your Spirit. We ask for more of Your Spirit. We yield to Your Spirit. Have Your way in our lives, and glorify Yourself in our lives, in Jesus name, amen.
