Lord, Adonai

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.

Primary Text: Luke 6v46
“Why do you call Me, Lord, Lord, and do not [practice] what I tell you?” Luke 6v46 (AMP)

It pays to obey the Lord, to listen to His instructions, His Word, and heed to it. Not only to hear it and say wonderful, and not do it. Imagine if the servants at the wedding at Cana at Galilee had not heeded the words of Jesus, even though it may have seemed like, what is He asking us to do? We are in need of wine, and He is asking us to pour water into the jars, and even go to the master of ceremony to ask them to taste it. Men, it could cost them their job! But His mother had told them aforehand, “Whatsoever He saith unto you, do it.” (John 2v5). What is the Lord telling you to do? Forgive, love your enemies, pray for them, pay your tithes (even though you feel how will I make ends meet), trust Him (even when everything doesn’t seem to be adding up). Hmmm, but remember the Lord is our Rock. Obeying Him, doing His words is compared to building a foundation upon a rock. Not obeying His words is like having no foundation at all. James 1v22 says, “But don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves. For if you listen to the word and don’t obey, it is like glancing at your face in a mirror. You see yourself, walk away, and forget what you look like. But if you look carefully into the perfect law that sets you free, and if you do what it says and don’t forget what you heard, then God will bless you for doing it.” (James 1v22-25, NLT).

Supplementary Text
“For everyone who comes to Me and listens to My words [in order to heed their teaching] and does them, I will show you what he is like: He is like a man building a house, who dug and went down deep and laid a foundation upon the rock; and when a flood arose, the torrent broke against that house and could not shake or move it, because it had been securely built or founded on a rock. But he who merely hears and does not practice doing My words is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation, against which the torrent burst, and immediately it collapsed and fell, and the breaking and ruin of that house was great.” Luke 6v47-49 (AMP)

Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You so much for loving me with an everlasting love in Jesus name, amen. I pray for the grace to obey all of Your Words and commands in Jesus name, amen.
