Don’t be afraid of the lion’s den (2)

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. What do we do when we find ourselves facing a potential lions’ den. Kind of a man-made quandary or dilemma, where they say, pray to man, ignore any other God, for thirty days, or face the lion’s den. Daniel found himself in this situation, but he chose to continue to pray to God, three times a day, as he had always done. We can come up with different lion’s den situations at work, within our family, relationships, even in our various tribes, nations, and the world we presently live in. We could be wrongfully accused, people may be finding fault at us out of envy and jealousy, as was the case with Daniel. We may be asked to do something contrary to God’s Word. But how do we react to it? We have to remember that God is stronger, and He will not allow us to be tempted beyond that we are able to bear (1 Corinthians 10v13). Daniel did go to the lion’s den. But God saved him

Primary Text:
“Very early the next morning, the king got up and hurried out to the lion’s den. When he got there, he called out in anguish, “Daniel, servant of the living God! Was your God, whom you serve so faithfully, able to rescue you from the lions?” Daniel answered, “Long live the king! My God sent His angel to shut the lions’ mouth so that they would not hurt me, for I have been found innocent in His sight. And I have not wronged you, Your Majesty. The king was overjoyed and ordered that Daniel be lifted from the den. Not a scratch was found on him, for he had trusted in his God.” (Daniel 6v19-23, (NLT).

Ironically, the people who had maliciously accused Daniel were then thrown into the lions’ den along with their wives and their children. The lions tore them apart, and King Darius himself made the proclamation stating how wonderful God was.

Supplementary Text:
“Then king Darius wrote unto all people, nations, and languages, that dwell in all the earth; Peace be multiplied unto you. I make a decree, That in every dominion of My kingdom men tremble and fear before the God of Daniel: for He is the living God, and stedfast for ever, and His kingdom that which shall not be destroyed, and His dominion shall be unto the end. He delivereth and rescueth, and He worketh signs and wonders in heaven and in earth, who hath delivered Daniel from the power of the lions. So this Daniel prospered in the reign of Darius, and in the reign of Cyrus the Persian.” Daniel 6v25-28 (KJV)

Prayer
Father, I thank You for Your Word, and Your faithfulness to me. Grant me the courage to be faithful to You always, regardless of the threats around in Jesus name, amen.
