His Giftings

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.

Primary Text

“There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work. Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good.” 1 Corinthians 12v4-6 (NIV)

“Now God gives us many kinds of special abilities, but it is the same Holy Spirit who is the source of them all. There are different kinds of services to God, but it is the same Lord we are serving. There are many ways in which God works in our lives, but it is the same God who does the work in and through all of us who are His. The Holy Spirit displays God’s power through each of us as a means of helping the entire church.” 1 Corinthians 12v4-6 (TLB)

We thank God that in the body of Christ He has put different gifts, talents, graces, for the profiting of all. Beloved, you have something that has been put in you that should be used for the benefit of all. It is precious, needed and it is important. I pray God would open our eyes to see and appreciate the gifts He has given to each of us as individuals and to those around us. I am encouraged with this text as well because it shows as well that ultimately it is the same Lord we are all serving. Each of us working in our giftings and callings are able to bring about a more excellent and perfect work to the glory of His name. We see too that these gifts are given by God’s own Spirit, as He sees fit; 2 Corinthians 12v11 (AMP) saying “All these [gifts, achievements, abilities] are inspired and brought to pass by one and the same [Holy] Spirit, Who apportions to each person individually [exactly] as He chooses.” What gift(s) or abilities has the Lord bestowed upon you? How have you been using it? How could you improve upon it?

“Some of us have been given special ability as apostles; to others He has given the gift of being able to preach well; some have special ability in winning people to Christ, helping them to trust Him as their Savior; still others have a gift for caring for God’s people as a shepherd does His sheep, leading and teaching them in the ways of God. Why is it that He gives us these special abilities to do certain things best? It is that God’s people will be equipped to do better work for Him, building up the Church, the body of Christ, to a position of strength and maturity; until finally we all believe alike about our salvation and about our Savior, God’s Son, and all become full-grown in the Lord – yes, to the point of being filled full with Christ.” Ephesians 4v11-13 (TLB)

Prayer

Our Father in heaven, we worship and adore You. We thank You for the giftings You have placed in Your church. We pray o God that You reveal to us each of our giftings and special abilities, and grant us the grace to use them to the glory of Your name in Jesus name, amen.
