Strength for well-doing
Hello everyone,
How are you doing on
this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.
Primary Text
“And as for you,
brethren, do not become weary or lose heart in doing right [but continue in
well-doing without weakening].” 2 Thessalonians 3v13 (AMP)
“And as for you,
brothers and sisters, never tire of doing what is good.” 2 Thessalonians 3v13
(NIV)
Being weary in
well-doing is not new – it has happened before and will likely happen again –
thus the encouragement not to be weary in well-doing. We see for example in the
life of Elijah that after a mighty victory in the name of the Lord, and he was
sent a death threat, he began to run away and reached a point where he even
wanted to die. He was tired. He was weary. He felt like he was the only one who
had been diligent in serving God. But God told him that there were 7000 others
that He had reserved who had not bowed down their knees to baal – another god (1
Kings 19). May God open your eyes to see godly people around you, surround you
with them, and encourage you in Jesus name, amen. We are blessed because we
have a God who renews the strength of those who wait on Him (Isaiah 40v13); and
whose strength is made perfect in our own weaknesses (2 Corinthians 12v9). God
as our Shepherd is also able to restore our souls (mind, emotions, wills), as
we see in Psalm 23v3.
Supplementary Text
“Have you not known?
Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of
the earth, does not faint or grow weary; there is no searching of His
understanding. He gives power to the faint and weary, and to him who has no
might He increases strength [causing it to multiply and making it to abound]. Even
youths shall faint and be weary, and [selected] young men shall feebly stumble
and fall exhausted; But those who wait for the Lord [who expect, look for, and
hope in Him] shall change and renew their strength and power; they shall lift
their wings and mount up [close to God] as eagles [mount up to the sun]; they
shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint or become tired.”
Isaiah 40v28-31 (AMP)
Prayer
Are you in need of
strength today – why don’t you wait on the Lord and ask it of Him?
