Life (2)
Hello
everyone,
How are you
doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.
Primary Text
“In Him was
life; …” John 1v4 (KJV)
The Bible
tells us that God’s ways are not our ways, neither are His thoughts our
thoughts – “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher
than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts” (Isaiah 55v9, AMP). While
God would have us live a wonderful life here on earth, His thoughts on what
that looks like and how it can be achieved is different from that of the world.
For example in Luke 12v15 (TLB) our Lord Jesus said “Beware! Don’t always be
wishing for what you don’t have. For real life and real living are not related
to how rich we are” while the Amplified says “And He said to them, Guard
yourselves and keep free from all covetousness (the immoderate desire for
wealth, the greedy longing to have more); for a man’s life does not consist in
and is not derived from possessing overflowing abundance or that which is over
and above his needs.” Our Lord however has a different recommendation for His
children. He says “Therefore I tell you, stop being perpetually uneasy (anxious
and worried) about your life, what you shall eat or what you shall drink; or
about your body, what you shall put on. Is not life greater [in quality] than
food, and the body [far above and more excellent] than clothing? ... But seek
(aim at and strive after) first of all His kingdom and His righteousness (His
way of doing and being right), and then all these things taken together will be
given you besides. So do not worry or be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow
will have worries and anxieties of its own. Sufficient for each day is its own
trouble (Matthew 6v25; 33-34). Amen. Beloved, what are you esteeming in life?
What are you seeking for and striving after? To what end? What do you consider
life to be? Is it in line with how God views it?
Prayer
Our Father and
our God we thank You for life. We thank You for Your way of doing things. We
thank You for Your continual provision and care of us. We magnify Your holy
name and pray that our views on life will align with Yours in Jesus name, amen.
