Light vs. Darkness
Hello
everyone,
How are you
doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.
Primary Text
“In Him was
Life, and the Life was the Light of men. And the Light shines on in the
darkness, for the darkness has never overpowered it [put it out or absorbed it
or appropriated it, and is unreceptive to it].” John 1v4-5 (AMP)
We thank God
for Jesus is the Light of all mankind. He is the Life, and He is the Light of
the world. In Matthew 5v14 we find too that we have been made the light of the
world, and we are to shine bright and shine to the glory of the Lord. He is our
Light, He is our Life and because of Him we can keep shining, apart from Him we
can do nothing. Beloved, is your light shining bright? Remember that 1 John 4v4
(AMP) tells us “Little children, you are of God [you belong to Him] and have
[already] defeated and overcome them [the agents of the antichrist], because He
Who lives in you is greater (mightier) than he who is in the world.” Don’t let
your light be hidden. Matthew 5v14-16 (TLB) says “You are the world’s light – a
city on a hill, glowing in the night for all to see. Don’t hide your light! Let
is shine for all; let your good deeds glow for all to see, so that they will
praise your heavenly Father.” Isaiah 60v1-3 (AMP)
reiterates this saying “Arise [from the depression and prostration in which
circumstances have kept you – rise to a new life]! Shine (be radiant with the
glory of the Lord), for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has
risen upon you! For behold, darkness shall cover the earth, and dense darkness
[all] peoples, but the Lord shall arise upon you [O Jerusalem], and His glory
shall be seen on you. And nations shall come to your light, and kings to the
brightness of your rising.” Amen.
Prayer
Father we thank You and
magnify Your holy name. We thank You for You are Light and our Source. We pray
that we would indeed shine bright in the world to the glory of Your name. We
come against anything – fears, unbelief, doubt, the enemy – that is trying to
diminish our light. Let Your glory be seen on us o God and let people be
attracted to it. We declare that we arise today to be all that You would have
us be by Your power and grace, in Jesus name we pray, amen.
