In the Spirit
Hello
everyone,
How
are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.
Primary
Text
“But
you are not living the life of the flesh, you are living the life of the
Spirit, if the [Holy] Spirit of God [really] dwells within you [directs and
controls you]. But if anyone does not possess the [Holy] Spirit of Christ, he
is none of His [he does not belong to Christ, is not truly a child of God].”
Romans 8v9 (AMP)
“But
you are not controlled by your sinful nature. You are controlled by the Spirit
if you have the Spirit of God living in you. (And remember that those who do
not have the Spirit of Christ living in them do not belong to Him at all.)”
Romans 8v9 (NLT)
“But
if God Himself has taken up residence in your life, you can hardly be thinking
more of yourself than of Him. Anyone, of course, who has not welcomed the
invisible but clearly present God, the Spirit of Christ, won’t know what we’re
talking about.” Romans 8v9 (MSG)
When
we give our lives to Christ, we become new creatures. We have the new birth.
Nicodemus wondered about this saying – “How can a man be born when he is old?
can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born? Jesus
answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of
the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the
flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit” (John 3v3-6,
KJV). When we are born again, then we are given the Spirit of Christ to live in
us. 1 Corinthians 1v21-22 (AMP) says “But it is God Who confirms and makes us
steadfast and establishes us [in joint fellowship] with you in Christ, and has
consecrated and anointed us [enduing us with the gifts of the Holy Spirit]; [He
has also appropriated and acknowledged us as His by] putting His seal upon us
and giving us His [Holy] Spirit in our hearts as the security deposit and
guarantee [of the fulfillment of His promise].”
Prayer
Are
you born again? Do you have the Spirit of Christ on the inside of you? The Bible says “For if you tell
others with your own mouth that Jesus Christ is your Lord and believe in your
own heart that God has raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it
is by believing in his heart that a man becomes right with God; and with his
mouth he tells others of his faith, confirming his salvation.” Romans
10v9-10 (TLB)
You can say this prayer: Heavenly Father, I come to You today, confessing
that I am a sinner. I am sorry for all that I have done and ask that You
forgive me for all of my sins and cleanse me from all unrighteousness. Lord
Jesus, I ask that You be Lord and Saviour over my life. I believe that You came
to die for my sins, and that God raised You from the dead. Thank You Father for
translating me out of the kingdom of darkness into the Kingdom of Your dear
Son. Thank You for sealing me with Your Holy Spirit of promise. Please keep me
till the end in You, and may Your Name alone be glorified in my life, in Jesus
name I pray, amen.
If you said this prayer today, know that you are now a child of God and
that there is much jubilation in heaven because of you. Begin to attend a
Bible-believing church, and keep the faith! Welcome into God’s family.
