Hello
everyone,
How
are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.

Text
“For
the law of the Spirit of life [which is] in Christ Jesus [the law of our new
being] has freed me from the law of sin and of death.” Romans 8v2 (AMP)
Romans
7 tells us about the “law of sin.” This is the law which makes you keep
sinning, even when you know that it is wrong. Paul writes in Romans 7v15-25
(NLT) that “I don’t really understand myself, for I want to do what is right,
but I don’t do it. Instead I do what I hate. But if I know that what I am doing
is wrong, this shows that I agree that the law is good. So I am not the one
doing wrong; it is sin living in me that does it. And I know that nothing good
lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature. I want to do what is right, but I
can’t. I want to do what is good, but I don’t. I don’t want to do what is
wrong, but I do it anyway. But if I do what I don’t want to do, I am not really
the one doing wrong; it is sin living in me that does it. I have discovered
this principle of life – that when I want to do what is right, I inevitably do
what is wrong. I love God’s law with all my heart. But there is another power
within me that is at war with my mind. This power makes me a slave to the sin
that is still within me. Oh, what a miserable person I am! Who will free me
from this life that is dominated by sin and death? Thank God! The answer is in
Jesus Christ our Lord. So you see how it is: In my mind I really want to obey
God’s law, but because of my sinful nature I am a slave to sin” Romans 7v15-25 (NLT). How can one be released from this? There
is the “law of the Spirit” of life in Christ Jesus – through the power of the
Holy Spirit and by yielding to Him, the deeds of the flesh can be put to death.
Romans 8v13 (AMP) says “For if you live according to [the
dictates of] the flesh, you will surely die. But if through the power of the
[Holy] Spirit you are [habitually] putting to death (making extinct, deadening)
the [evil] deeds prompted by the body, you shall [really and genuinely] live
forever.” When the Holy Spirit of God, the Spirit of the Lord Jesus
Christ is on the inside of you, He helps you to break the power of sin, He
overrides it, He sets you free from the law of sin and death. It is up to us
then to yield ourselves unto God and our members as instruments of
righteousness (Romans 6v13).
Prayer
Father,
I thank You for Your Word. Thank You for the law of the Spirit of life in
Christ Jesus which sets us free from the law of sin and death. I renounce sin,
and say the law of sin has no power over me and I refuse to live according to
its dictates anymore in Jesus name, amen. Father, I yield myself to you and
every member of my body to glorify Your name now and always in Jesus name,
amen.
