The manifestation of the sons of God (3)

“For [even the whole] creation (all nature) waits expectantly and longs earnestly for God’s sons to be made known [waits for the revealing, the disclosing of their sonship].” Romans 8v19 (AMP) 

“Everything God made is waiting with excitement for God to show His children’s glory completely.” Romans 8v19 (NCV)

1 John 3v1 (AMP) says “See what an incredible quality of love the Father has shown to us, that we would [be permitted to] be named and called and counted the children of God! And so we are! For this reason the world does not know us, because it did not know Him.” Interestingly enough though, Romans 8v19 says that there is an excitement by God’s creation waiting to see the revealing of God’s sons. But we will remember that even when our Lord Jesus came, He was not recognized as the Son of God; even till date, many fail to recognize and call Him so. 1 John 3v2 (AMP) says “Beloved, we are [even here and] now children of God, and it is not yet made clear what we will be [after His coming]. We know that when He comes and is revealed, we will [as His children] be like Him, because we will see Him just as He is [in all His glory].” But the Lord knows those who are His, and we should also remember who we are in the Lord. Indeed 1 John 3v3 (AMP) notes that “And everyone who has this hope [confidently placed] in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure (holy, undefiled, guiltless).” That is, everyone who believes and has that expectancy of His return would keep themselves clean. Notable in the life of Jesus is that although many denied who He was, He stayed true to who He was till the end; and did the works that the Father had sent Him to do. The question for us then is in the face of adversity, persecution, spite, trials and tribulations, will we stay true to who we are in the Lord?

Prayer

Our Father and our God we thank You. We honour You and we glorify Your holy name. Indeed You are good. Father, we thank You for the incredible love You have shown towards us that we can be called the children of God. Father, grant us the grace to be all that You want us to be in Jesus name, amen.
