A Foretaste!

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. We give God all the glory for He is on the throne, He is our Father and He cares for you and I. “And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow – not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below – indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8v38-39 (NLT)

Primary Text
“And not only the creation, but we ourselves too, who have and enjoy the firstfruits of the [Holy] Spirit [a foretaste of the blissful things to come] groan inwardly as we wait for the redemption of our bodies [from sensuality and the grave, which will reveal] our adoption (our manifestation as God’s sons).” Romans 8v23 (AMP)

“And we believers also groan, even though we have the Holy Spirit within us as a foretaste of future glory, for we long for our bodies to be released from sin and suffering. We, too, wait with eager hope for the day when God will give us our full rights as His adopted children, including the new bodies He has promised us.” Romans 8v23 (NLT)

“But it’s not only around us; it’s within us. The Spirit of God is arousing us within. We’re also feeling the birth pangs. These sterile and barren bodies of ours are yearning for full deliverance.” Romans 8v23 (MSG)

There is a glorious future that awaits us as children of God; though in the meantime we groan with all creation as we wait for the time when our bodies will be redeemed and we are given our full rights as God’s adopted children. However, through the Spirit of God who has been given to us, we have a foretaste of these things that are to come. 2 Corinthians 1v21-22 (NLT) says “It is God who enables us, along with you, to stand firm for Christ. He has commissioned us, and He has identified us as His own by placing the Holy Spirit in our hearts as the first installment that guarantees everything He has promised us.” Hallelujah. Through the Spirit of God we enjoy liberty, His presence within us works love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. We are able to perceive and understand spiritual things and truths and live a supernatural life.

Prayer
Father, we thank You so much for Your Spirit in us and dwelling with us. We thank You because we are being changed into the image of the Lord, and eventually we will be given incorruptible bodies. Hallelujah. Thank You Father, Son and Holy Spirit in Jesus name, amen.
