The Spirit's Affirmation

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.

Primary Text

“The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:” Romans 8v16 (KJV)
 
“The Spirit Himself [thus] testifies together with our spirit, [assuring us] that we are children of God.” Romans 8v16 (AMP)

““So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when He adopted you as His own children. Now we call Him, “Abba, Father. For His Spirit joins with our spirit to affirm that we are God’s children.” Romans 8v15-16 (NLT)

The Bible tells us that the devil is the accuser of the brethren (Revelations 12v10). Ever feel as if, wow, I am not a child of God, God doesn’t love me, I won’t make it to heaven … While the devil accuses the brethren, we have the Spirit of God who testifies, and bears witness with our Spirit that we are the children of God. Ephesians 4v30 (AMP) says “And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God [do not offend or vex or sadden Him], by Whom you were sealed (marked, branded as God’s own, secured) for the day of redemption (of final deliverance through Christ from evil and the consequences of sin).” Indeed, as children of God, we have been marked by the Spirit of God – He confirms and bears witness that you are a child of God. Because you are going through a tough time, doesn’t mean that God hates you, or doesn’t love you anymore. Look to the Cross, He sent Jesus to die for you, and He has given you His Spirit to be with you and in you. He loves you very much. Let the Spirit of God continue to affirm this to you.

Prayer

Father we thank You for this day. We thank You because we are the children of God. We thank You for Your Spirit Who confirms this. Thank You because we have not been given a spirit of bondage again to fear, but a Spirit of adoption whereby we cry Abba Father. Thank You so much for being our God. We love You and we delight ourselves in You in Jesus name, amen.
