One day

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. Wow, how time flies. Before we know it, February will be ended. Its amazing how many things can happen in just one day. For instance, yesterday was a windy and rainy day, and so I took out my umbrella in the morning, but by the time I came back with it in the evening, it was not the same. Instead, it had broken at the handle, and the main part had been bent. The sharp broken hand was even capable of piercing my hand. You know the returning of the Lord can be like that, in the morning everything looks normal, but at the end of the day, so many things have transpired. For the faithful and wise servant, they will be jubilating, but the unfaithful ones will be gnashing their teeth. The Bible tells us:

“Be careful, or your hearts will be weighed down with dissipation, drunkenness and the anxieties of life, and that day will close on you unexpectedly like a trap.
For it will come upon all those who live on the face of the whole earth.
Be always on the watch, and pray that you may be able to escape all that is about to happen, and that you may be able to stand before the Son of Man.” Luke 21v34-36 (NIV)

Here Jesus gives us some warnings:
1. Be careful. Don’t get caught up in worries, and cares, dissipation (mental distraction, amusement, diversion, dissolute way of living, esp. excessive drinking of liquor; intemperance; ref: www.dictionary.com), and the anxieties of life. Don’t fret. Be very careful to cast your cares to the Lord, so you don’t get weighed down, and become distracted. If you allow this to happen, the day of the Lord will just happen on you unexpectedly.
2. Be always on the watch – be on guard, be aware, be sensitive, be attentive, be ready, be perceptive, don’t be ignorant of the devices of the devil
3. Pray – “… praying that you may have the full strength and ability and be accounted worthy to escape all these things [taken together] that will take place, and to stand in the presence of the Son of Man.” Luke 21v36 (Amplified Bible).

And so Father we pray that we may have the full strength and ability and be accounted worthy to escape all these things, taken together, that will take place, and to stand in the presence of the Son of Man, in Jesus name, amen. And Father we pray as well that in anyway we have allowed ourselves to be weighed down, overburdened and depressed with the cares of this world, or by self-indulgence and drunkenness, please forgive us in Jesus name, amen. Grant us the grace to follow You till the end, and not to be friends with this world in Jesus name, amen. We cast all our cares unto You O Lord, because You care for us. Thank You because You are more than able to meet our needs. We commit to seeking first Your Kingdom and Your righteousness, knowing all these things – what we shall eat, drink and wear – shall be added unto us in Jesus name, amen.

Have a very blessed day.

And perhaps you do not even know Jesus as your Lord and personal Saviour, and you want to have a relationship with Him. The Bible says:

“That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.” Romans 10v9-10

You can say this prayer: Heavenly Father, I come to You today, confessing that I am a sinner. I am sorry for all that I have done and ask that You forgive me for all of my sins and cleanse me from all unrighteousness. Lord Jesus, I ask that You be Lord and Saviour over my life. I believe that You came to die for my sins, and that God raised You from the dead. Thank You Father for translating me out of the kingdom of darkness into the Kingdom of Your dear Son. Thank You for sealing me with Your Holy Spirit of promise. Please keep me till the end in You, and may Your Name alone be glorified in my life, in Jesus name I pray, amen.

If you said this prayer today, know that you are now a child of God and that there is much jubilation in heaven because of you. Begin to attend a Bible-believing church, and keep the faith! Welcome into God’s family.
