Asking for the Holy Spirit

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. Happy New Month. We thank God for His mercies, His grace, His great love for us, and for sending Jesus to die for us and His Holy Spirit to be with us.

The fact that we have the Holy Spirit with us is wonderful. The Holy Spirit is the third person in the Trinity and He is God, and the amazing thing is that He is here with us and He is in us (John 14v17). Jesus told His disciples that it was expedient that I go away, because when I go away, I will send the Comforter to you (John 16v7). The Bible says those that are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God (Romans 8v14). The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control (Galatians 5v22-23). Do you want to walk in love? DO you want joy? Do you want peace? These are all fruit of the Spirit. The Holy Spirit is also here to guide us into all truth, to bring to remembrance what Jesus has said, to show us things to come, and to counsel us, among other things (John 14v26, John 16v13). The Bible tells us do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit (Ephesians 5v18) Are you filled with the Spirit? Do you need a fresh touch, a fresh anointing? As a believer, you want/need to be constantly filled with Spirit. And we can ask for more of Him. The Bible tells us that:

“If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent?
Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion?
If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask Him?” Luke 10v11-13

Have a very blessed day.

Please let’s remember to keep the people and nation of Haiti in our prayers. Let’s thank God for all that He has done and is doing so far in the country, especially since the earthquake. Let’s also pray that God will continue to show mercy, and send even more help to them. Let’s pray for strength and wisdom for the volunteers on the ground. Let’s pray that those that are mourning will be comforted, and that the broken hearted will be healed. Let’s pray that the lost will be found, and that the windows of heaven will open upon the nation and blessings be poured out upon them. Let’s pray that the Prince of peace will reign in the country in all His glory. Let’s also come against every plan of the evil one for that nation. Let’s pray that God will send labourers to the country and that souls will be won for the kingdom. Let’s pray as well for the Christians who are on the ground, that God will strengthen them and make them a light in the country even at this time, to the glory of His name, in Jesus name, amen.
