A rescue mission
Hello everyone,
Happy Sunday. Now, some people dream of having a prince in shining armor come to save them from somewhere, and they go riding off into the moon light. The fairy tales we read, tell about these things. But do you know that in actuality, when you become a child of God, God did exactly that for you. He fought the battle, conquered death, the devil, all the bad forces, and rescued you from their dominion. If you prefer more of the Jack Bauer style runs, just know He did over and beyond that. If you prefer to think in “sci-fi” terms, then He has zapped you out. In fact, He has done that for the whole world, but they have to believe in Him and receive Him first to walk in this new life. All in all, He has rescued you from the powers of darkness, and you are now free and redeemed, in a new kingdom, even as we see in Colossians 1v13-14:
“Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of His dear Son:
In whom we have redemption through His blood, even the forgiveness of sins:” (KJV)
“For He has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son He loves,
In whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.” (NIV)
“[The Father] has delivered and drawn us to Himself out of the control and the dominion of darkness and has transferred us into the kingdom of the Son of His love,
In Whom we have our redemption through His blood, [which means] the forgiveness of our sins.” (AMP)
Hallelujah. As children of God, you have been rescued, and redeemed, and now we are made to sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus (Ephesians 2v6). Hallelujah. We have been made kings and priests by Jesus unto God and His Father (Revelations 1v6). Isn’t that fantastic? Grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ (2 Peter 3v18). To God our Father and our Lord Jesus Christ be glory and dominion for ever and ever, amen.
