A summary on the wicked!

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. We thank God for His amazing love and His faithfulness over us. Who are the wicked? The dictionary describes them as someone who is “evil or morally bad in principle or practice; sinful; iniquitous” (www.dictionary.com). In Psalm 37v35, David makes an observation about the wicked, saying:

“I have seen the wicked in great power, and spreading himself like a green bay tree.”

Perhaps you have also had cause to make such observations. Observations where you see those who are evil or morally bad in principle or practice, sinful or iniquitous, and they hold great power, and it seems that their presence is really something to be felt. But note what the next verse says:

“Yet he passed away, and lo, he was not: yea, I sought him, but he could not be found.” Psalm 37v36

It happened with Pharaoh and the Egyptians. Remember how the Bible records that they pursued after the Israelites, after God had hardened the heart of Pharaoh:

“For Pharaoh will say of the children of Israel, They are entangled in the land, the wilderness hath shut them in.
And I will harden Pharaoh’s heart, that he shall follow after them; and I will be honoured upon Pharaoh, and upon all his host, that the Egyptians may know that I am the LORD. And they did so.” Exodus 14v3-4

What is that situation that seems to keep toughening up, with the wicked following hard after you? You seem to experience some relief, and then it seems like things just seem immensely worse, for Pharaoh and his army seems to be right at your heels. Pharaoh symbolizing a source of oppression. Don’t worry, God knows about it, and He shall be honoured in it. We know the end of the story, that the Egyptians drowned in the Red Sea. Be encouraged, and remember these words that Moses had spoken even before the final victory was made manifest:

“And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which He will show to you today: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen today, ye shall see them again no more for ever.
The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.” Exodus 14v13-14

The LORD gave Moses some instructions about what to do – “But lift thou up thy rod, and stretch out thine hand over the sea, and divide it: and the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea.” Exodus 14v16

Why don’t you take some time and ask the LORD that for this battle, what are You instructing me to do? (See James 1v2-8)

Have a very blessed day.
