Rest All Around

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. We thank God for His awesome power and love for us. You know there is a peace and a rest that is so incredible, that passeth all understanding that we can find in God. We see this in the case of king Asa, who did what was good and right in the sight of the Lord, removed the things that represented idolatry from the land, and commanded others to do the same.

Primary Text: 2 Chronicles 14v5-7
“Also he took away out of all the cities of Judah the high places and the images: and the kingdom was quiet before him. And he built fenced cities in Judah, for the land had rest, and he had no war in those years; because the Lord had given him rest. Therefore he said unto Judah, Let us build these cities, and make about them walls, and towers, gates, and bars, while the land is yet before us; because we have sought the LORD our God, we have sought Him, and He hath given us rest on every side. So they built and prospered.” 2 Chronicles 14v3-5

Wow, God made the land quiet before them, they had no war, and He gave them rest on every side. The Lord says that there is no peace unto the wicked (Isaiah 48v22, Isaiah 57v21), but for us His children, He says we should be of good cheer because He has overcome the world (John 16v33). What was Asa’s secret? They sought the Lord. Are you seeking the Lord? The Bible says “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on Thee: because he trusteth in Thee.” (Isaiah 26v3). Trust in the Lord, seek Him, pray to Him, and He will give you rest. Hallelujah.

Supplementary Texts
“Come unto Me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you, and learn of Me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For My yoke is easy, and My burden is light.” Matthew 11v27-30

“For thus said the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel: In returning [to Me] and resting [in Me] you shall be saved; in quietness and in [trusting] confidence shall be your strength. But you would not,” Isaiah 30v15 (AMP)

“Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition (definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God. And God’s peace [shall be yours, that tranquil state of a soul assured of its salvation through Christ, and so fearing nothing from God and being content with its earthly lot of whatever sort that is, that peace] which transcends all understanding shall garrison and mount guard over your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4v6-7 (AMP)

“When a man’s ways please the LORD, He maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him.” Proverbs 16v7

Prayer: Why don’t you return to Your Father, to Your Lord and Saviour and just talk to Him and make your petitions to Him, of whatever circumstance and situation it is, that He may give you peace and rest.
