In Preparation for His Glory

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. We thank God because He has called us to be His own; Jesus making us kings and priests unto God and His Father, and our God (Revelations 1v6, 5v10). But God did say we should “Follow peace with all men, and holiness,, without which no man shall see the Lord;” (Hebrews 12v14). We see king Asa in the Bible, who when he became king, he did what was right in the eyes of God.

Primary Text:
“So Abijah slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the city of David: and Asa his son reigned in his stead. In his days the land was quiet ten years. And Asa did that which was good and right in the eyes of the LORD his God: For he took away the altars of the strange gods, and the high places, and brake down the images, and cut down the groves: And commanded Judah to seek the LORD God of their fathers, and to do the law and the commandment. Also he took away out of all the cities of Judah the high places and the images: and the kingdom was quiet before him.” 2 Chronicles 14v1-5

Remember Gideon, he also broke down the family altars (Judges 6v25-28), and Daniel purposed in his heart not to defile himself with the portion of the king’s meat, nor with the wine which he drank (Daniel 1v8). Today, under the New Testament, our bodies are called the temples of God. By believing in Jesus, we do not perish but have everlasting life (John 3v16). After we have believed, we were sealed by the Holy Spirit of promise (Ephesians 1v13). That done, we keep ourselves from sinning for – “… Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound. God forbid…” (Romans 6v1-2).

Supplementary Texts
“Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you. And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be My sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty. 2 Corinthians 6v14-18

“What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.” 1 Corinthians 6v19-20

Prayer
Father, I thank You for Your Word. Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting, in Jesus name I pray, amen.
