Faith and Patience (6)!
Hello everyone,
How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. We thank God for another day, for health, strength and His goodness towards us.
Primary Text: Hebrews 11v23
“By faith Moses, when he was born, was hid three months of his parents, because they saw he was a proper child; and they were not afraid of the king’s commandment.” Hebrews 11v23 (KJV)
“It was by faith that Moses’ parents hid him for three months when he was born. They saw that God had given them an unusual child, and they were not afraid to disobey the king’s command.” Hebrews 11v23 (NLT)
The king’s command was for all male children that were born to the Israelites, them being in Egypt, to be killed. But Moses’ parents refused to do that, and instead hid him for three months. The Dakes annotated reference Bible notes – “They must have had some revelation from God on which to base their faith, for faith comes from God’s Word (Rom. 10v17)” How are you treating the children that God has given to you? Are you treating them in light of the Word of God? Children are a gift from God and should be treated as such. They also need proper training and nurturing.
Supplementary Texts
“The woman became pregnant and gave birth to a son. She saw that he was a special baby and kept him hidden for three months.” Exodus 2v2 (NLT)
“Behold, I and the children whom the LORD hath given me are for signs and wonders in Israel from the LORD of hosts, which dwelleth in mount Zion.” Isaiah 8v18 (KJV)
“BLESSED (HAPPY, fortunate, to be envied) is everyone who fears, reveres, and worships the Lord, who walks in His ways and lives according to His commandments. For you shall eat [the fruit] of the labor of your hands; happy (blessed, fortunate, enviable) shall you be, and it shall be well with you. Your wife shall be like a fruitful vine in the innermost parts of your house; your children shall be like olive plants round about your table. Behold, thus shall the man be blessed who reverently and worshipfully fears the Lord.” Psalm 103v1-4 (AMP)
“Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward. As arrows are in the hand of a warrior, so are the children of one’s youth. Happy, blessed, and fortunate is the man whose quiver is filled with them! They will not be put to shame when they speak with their adversaries [in gatherings] at the [city’s gate.” Psalm 127v3-5 (AMP)
Prayer
Father in heaven, we thank You for the children You have given to us, and pray for the grace to raise them up to be God fearing, regardless of what society says, in Jesus name, amen.
