The ‘aha’ moment
Hello everyone,
How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. “O give thanks unto the LORD; for He is good; for His mercy endureth for ever.” 1 Chronicles 16v34 (KJV)
Primary Text: Exodus 34v6
“And the LORD passed by before him, and proclaimed, the LORD, The LORD God, merciful …” Exodus 34v6
Our God is merciful. He is full of mercy. Mercy can be said to mean “compassionate or kindly forbearance shown toward an offender, an enemy, or other person in one’s power; compassion, pity, or benevolence… The disposition to be compassionate or forbearing… The discretionary power of a judge to pardon someone or to mitigate punishment … an act of kindness, compassion, or favor.” (www.dictionary.com). Hebrews 4v16 tells us that “Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.” His mercy endures for ever. Even as God is merciful, we His children are also to be merciful. The Word saying: “But love your enemies and be kind and do good [doing favors so that someone derives benefit from them] and lend, expecting and hoping for nothing in return but considering nothing as lost and despairing of no one; and then your recompense (your reward) will be great (rich, strong, intense, and abundant), and you will be sons of the Most High, for He is kind and charitable and good to the ungrateful and the selfish and wicked. So be merciful (sympathetic, tender, responsive, and compassionate) even as your Father is [all these].” Luke 6v35-36 (AMP)
Supplementary Text:
“For He says to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy and I will have compassion (pity) on whom I will have compassion. So then [God’s gift] is not a question of human will and human effort, but of God’s mercy. [It depends not on one’s own willingness nor on his strenuous exertion as in running a race, but on God’s having mercy on him.]” Romans 9v15&16 (AMP)
Prayer
Father, I thank You so much for Your mercy. Thank You so much for You are a merciful God. Thank You because I can come boldly to Your throne of grace to obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. How we need You. We cannot do without You O Lord. Father, even as You are merciful to us, help us to be merciful to others. Your Word says blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy. Help me Lord to be merciful in Jesus name, amen.
