23 November 2011: The Greatest Gift

Hello everybody,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. Have you ever had to buy a gift for someone, and wondered, what is the best gift I can give to them? Have you ever had to put into considerations such things as: the situation, the person’s personality, what is actually practical, what would last the longest, what they can carry…. So many considerations… We do have a very very special gift, that if we receive it, is ours. Such a wonderful gift it is. It is very practical, we can share it, very relevant, lasts for forever ☺

Primary Text: Luke 2:10-11
“And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.” Luke 2v10-11 (KJV)

The best gift we could have received was Jesus. Encompassed and embodied in this free gift which goes to all people, everywhere, without discriminating, is the love of God, is God with us, is access to God as our Father, is having a friend, is having a comforter, counselor, healer, keeper, preserver. It’s having a relationship with God. It’s being able to run to the Lord for help and succor. It’s having a hope and a future. It’s having a friend!!! It’s having mercy, grace and understanding! It’s having God Himself praying for us, and rejoicing over us with singing. Hallelujah. It’s having someone who understands all that we are going through, and someone who sits with us through it all. What a wonderful gift. What an awesome gift. What an awesome God!

Supplementary Text:
“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon His shoulder: and His name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9v6 (KJV)

Prayer Point

We thank You for the precious Holy Spirit of God who is with us and in us. Holy Spirit we adore You, we love You, we are grateful. Lord, thank You for all Your many blessings and goodness to us, in Jesus name we pray, amen.
