Love Unfeigned!

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.

Primary Text
“Since by your obedience to the Truth through the [Holy] Spirit you have purified your hearts for the sincere affection of the brethren, [see that] you love one another fervently from a pure heart.” 1 Peter 1v22 (AMP)

We are encouraged to love one another with all our hearts. Romans 12v9 says our love should be sincere. That is it should be real, not pretending that we love others but to really love them. 1 John 4v7-8 says “Dear friends, let us continue to love one another, for love comes from God. Anyone who loves is a child of God and knows God. But anyone who does not love does not know God, for God is love.” 1 Corinthians 13 tells us different things about love. You may ask, but how then do I show this kind of love? Well, the fact is that as a child of God, who is born of God, “… God’s love has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit Who has been given to us.” (Romans 5v5, AMP). Moreover, we know that inclusive in the fruit of the Spirit is love, Galatians 5v23 (AMP) saying “But the fruit of the [Holy] Spirit [the work which His presence within accomplishes] is love,...” When we see something in our lives like pride, rudeness, strife… that doesn’t match up to what love is, we can confess and repent of it, and through the power of the Holy Spirit walk in love instead.

Supplementary Text
“Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous and boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.” 1 Corinthians 1v4-7 (NLT)

Father, I thank You for the love with which You loved us. I pray “… that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ – to the glory and praise of God (Philippians 1v9-11) in Jesus name, amen.
