Believing and Obeying

Hello everyone, How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. Primary Text “And, A Stone that will cause stumbling and a Rock that will give [men] offense; they stumble because they disobey and disbelieve [God’s] Word, as those [who reject Him] were destined (appointed to do].” 1 Peter 2v8 (AMP) In the Bible, we see examples of men and women who believed and were obedient to God’s Word and His commands. It’s not that they did not have issues of their own but they stuck with the Lord. Abraham was tested and told to sacrifice his only son Isaac, whom he loved. It was hard, but he obeyed, and after restraining him from doing it, the angel of the LORD said to him “… Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou any thing unto him: for now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only son from Me.” (Genesis 22v12). The Bible tells us that Abraham believed God and it was accounted unto Him for righteousness, and he was called a friend of God (James 2v23). Over the years, people have and still believe and obey God even when they do not understand what is happening. We see Moses was arguing with God when God wanted to send him forth, but God knew what He wanted and could do through him. Are you a willing vessel in the Lord’s hands? We may not see or understand the whole picture but when God is with us it is well. The reassurance God gave to Moses was – My presence will go with you and I will give you rest (Exodus 33v14). With the great commission as well, He said, Lo I am with you always, until the end of time. He has also sent the Holy Spirit to us, to empower us to be His witnesses. We are not alone!!! Remember Mary, she said, be it unto me according to Your Word (Luke 1v38). How open are we to hearkening to God’s Word? Supplementary Text “Thus Abraham believed in and adhered to and trusted in and relied on God, and it was reckoned and placed to his account and credited as righteousness (as conformity to the divine will in purpose, thought, and action).” Galatians 3v6 (AMP) Heavenly Father, I thank You for Your Word. I pray for the grace to do all of Your will, all of the time in Jesus name, amen.
