The Oil of Gladness

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. We thank God that He knows us and understands us more than we or any other person ever could. He understands our moods, our emotions, our past, knows our destiny, present, future, and He sees the bigger picture. Yesterday I was encouraged along these lines: the enemy tries to bring heaviness, but God gives us the oil of gladness. Sometimes out of nowhere, or perhaps because of some occurrences, you may find your joy so low, you feel heavy, sad, discouraged, guilty, hurt, condemned, things that steal away your joy and let heaviness creep in. BUT, it is the devil who comes to steal, kill and destroy. But Jesus came that we might have life and life more abundantly (John 10v10).

Primary Text
“THE SPIRIT of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed and qualified me to preach the Gospel of good tidings to the meek, the poor, and afflicted; He has sent me to bind up and heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the [physical and spiritual] captives and the opening of the prison and of the eyes to those who are bound, To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord [the year of His favor] and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, To grant [consolation and joy] to those who mourn in Zion -- to give them an ornament (a garland or diadem) of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, the garment [expressive] of praise instead of a heavy, burdened, and failing spirit -- that they may be called oaks of righteousness [lofty, strong, and magnificent, distinguished for uprightness, justice, and right standing with God], the planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.” Isaiah 61v1-3

Hallelujah. It is the will of God that you have the oil of joy, a garment of praise, to have liberty, to be comforted, to have an ornament of beauty, to be an oak of righteousness. If you find that you are feeling otherwise, its time to claim the victory for which Jesus died for us.

Supplementary Text
“[The Lord God says] And the redeemed of the Lord shall return and come with singing to Zion; everlasting joy shall be upon their heads. They shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.” Isaiah 51v11 (AMP)

Father we thank You for Your Word this day. We thank You for Your joy is our strength. Father in Jesus name, we pray that You replace every spirit of heaviness, sorrow, dismay, sighing, depression with Your oil of gladness in Jesus name, amen.
