The Oil of Gladness (2)

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. It’s interesting some of the things God will have us do. For instance He says “Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice.” Or, “In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” (1 Thessalonians 5v18). And we see the Psalmist say “I will bless the LORD at all times: His praise shall continually be in my mouth.” (Psalm 34v1). Again, one of the things Jesus came to do was to destroy the works of the devil. Jesus was anointed:

Primary Text
“To grant [consolation and joy] to those who mourn in Zion -- to give them an ornament (a garland or diadem) of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy, instead of mourning, the garment [expressive] of praise instead of a heavy, burdened, and failing spirit -- that they may be called oaks of righteousness [lofty, strong, and magnificent, distinguished for uprightness, justice, and right standing with God], the planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.” Isaiah 61v3 (AMP)

God will have us with joy, peace, celebration, rejoicing. Yes, we have trials and all, but Nehemiah 8v10 tells us that the joy of the Lord is our strength. Even the Lord Jesus said that “I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace and confidence. In the world you have tribulation and trials and distress and frustration; but be of good cheer [take courage; be confidence, certain, undaunted]! For I have overcome the world. [I have deprived it of power to harm you and have conquered it for you.]” John 16v33. Or even, “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.” (James 1v2-4, NIV). Even as we celebrate Easter this weekend, let us remember that the Lord came that we may have life, and life more abundantly. The Spirit of the Lord on the inside of us produces fruit that includes love, joy and peace. Rejoice! Be at peace! Be refreshed! Be blessed!

Supplementary Text
“[The Lord God says] And the redeemed of the Lord shall return and come with singing to Zion; everlasting joy shall be upon their heads. They shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.” Isaiah 51v11 (AMP)

Father we thank You for Your Word this day. We thank You for Your joy is our strength. Father in Jesus name, we pray that You replace every spirit of heaviness, sorrow, dismay, sighing, depression with Your oil of gladness in Jesus name, amen.
