A Wise God
Hello
everyone,
How
are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. We thank God
because He is the Almighty, and He can be trusted. Thank God because He is dependable
and even when we might not understand what is happening, we can trust in Him.
Primary Text
“Because
the foolishness of God is wiser than men;…” 1 Corinthians 1v25 (KJV)
“[This
is] because the foolish thing [that has its source in] God is wiser than men,…”
1 Corinthians 1v25 (AMP)
“Human
wisdom is so tinny, so impotent, next to the seeming absurdity of God…” 1
Corinthians 1v25 (MSG)
This
verse tells us that the foolishness of God is wiser than men. Hallelujah!
Imagine God telling His people to go around a city, just walk around for 7
days, and on the 7th day, after walking round 7 times, with the
priests blowing the trumpets, they should shout, when they hear the priests
blow a long blast on the trumpets, and the walls will come tumbling down – and
they did (Joshua 6). Imagine healing a leper by confirming the word of His
prophet who told Naaman the leper to dip in the river Jordan 7 times (2 Kings
5). Imagine a God who honors the faith of His people and shows up for them,
causing His name to be glorified and promoting His servants, although they do
go to the fiery furnace and the lions’ den (Daniel 3&6). The wisdom of this
world like Job’s wife might be to say curse God and die (Job 1v9), but the
wisdom of the Lord will be “And fear not them which kill the body, but are not
able to kill the soul: but rather fear Him which is able to destroy both soul
and body in hell.” (Matthew 10v28). Imagine a God who says I know you are so
much old, and your wife is this much old, but you will still have a child (Genesis
18v9-15, 21v1-7). Imagine a God who honors the obedience of a person who would
say “… Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing:
nevertheless at Thy word I will let down the net.” (Luke 5v5). A God who turns
water into wine (John 2v1-11). Beloved, Isaiah 55v8-9 (NIV) tells us ““For My
thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways,” declares the
LORD. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than
your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts.” I don’t know what you are going
through, but God has earned the right to be trusted, and His Word to be relied
on. He has saved us through an unconventional yet the wisest of ways, trust
Him, love Him, depend on Him, rely on Him.
Supplementary Text
“As
for God, His way is perfect: The LORD’s word is flawless; He shields all who
take refuge in Him.” Psalm 18v30 (NIV)
