A confirmed testimony
Hello
everyone,
How
are you on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. We thank God for His
goodness, His faithfulness, love and protection over us.
Primary Text
“Even
as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you:” 1 Corinthians 1v6 (KJV)
“In
this way [our] witnessing concerning Christ (the Messiah) was confirmed and
established and made sure in you” 1 Corinthians 1v6 (AMP)
“This
confirms that what I told you about Christ is true.” 1 Corinthians 1v6 (NLT)
The
two verses preceding this one say “I thank my God at all times for you because
of the grace (the favor and spiritual blessing) of God which was bestowed on
you in Christ Jesus, [So] that in Him in every respect you were enriched, in
full power and readiness of speech [to speak of your faith] and complete
knowledge and illumination [to give you full insight into its meaning].” 1
Corinthians 1v4-5 (AMP). You can imagine sharing the Gospel with someone and
telling them about how God will give them His Spirit, make them a new creature,
begin to change their desires, help them to please Him and so on. And then
after they have given their lives to Christ, you begin to see evidence of the
grace of God on them, and seeing them being able to talk about and understand
the faith. Perhaps you notice other gifts and fruits of the Spirit in them.
Praise the Lord. And then like Paul you can say, “The evidence of Christ has
been clearly verified in your lives.” 1 Corinthians 1v6 (MSG). Hallelujah!
Beloved, is the testimony of Christ being confirmed in you?
Supplementary Text
“I
thank my God in all my remembrance of you. In every prayer of mine I always
make my entreaty and petition for you all with joy (delight). [I thank my God]
for your fellowship (your sympathetic cooperation and contributions and
partnership) in advancing the good news (the Gospel) from the first day [you
heard it] until now. And I am convinced and sure of this very thing, that He
Who began a good work in you will continue until the day of Jesus Christ [right
up to the time of His return], developing [that good work] and perfecting and
bringing it to full completion in you.” Philippians 1v3-6 (AMP)
Prayer
Father,
we thank You very much for Your grace upon us in Christ Jesus. We pray that You
who began a good work in us will continue to perfect it in Jesus name, amen. We
pray for those who do not yet know You, that You will send laborers to them. We
pray for Your church, that we will be given freedom of utterance to declare the
Word of God with boldness and with courage, and for a filling of Your Spirit to
do this even to the glory of Your name, in Jesus name, amen. We pray for
missionaries and those being persecuted because of the Gospel, that You will strengthen
them, provide for them, and keep them secure until the end in Jesus name, amen.
When You return Lord, please let none of us be found wanting, in Jesus name we
pray with thanksgiving, amen.
