The foolishness, and the Power!
Hello
everyone,
How
are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. We thank God
for His goodness, mercies, and lovingkindness.
Primary Text
“For
the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us
which are saved it is the power of God.” 1 Corinthians 1v18 (KJV)
John
3v16 (KJV) tells us “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten
Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting
life.” Hallelujah. This is good news! And we can tell people about how Jesus
came and died for our sins, and rose again for our justification, and is now
sited at the right hand of God, interceding for us, He also being the head of
the Church. Wonderful news. Yet as we find, it is not that easy for all to
believe and accept, if not, as many as have heard the gospel should be saved.
As 1 Corinthians 1v18 tells us, for those who perishing, the preaching of the
cross is foolishness. Perhaps, at some point, before you gave your life to
Christ, you also saw this message as foolishness. But to those who are saved,
it is the power of God. Hallelujah. But beloved, if we think about it, God’s ways are not our
ways. He is merciful, gracious, and willing to pardon. Isaiah 55v6-9 (KJV) says
“Seek ye the LORD while He may be found, call ye upon Him while He is near: Let
the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him
return unto the LORD, and He will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for He
will abundantly pardon. For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your
ways My ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so
are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.” Let’s
stop trying to put God in a box, and accept His plan, and His way for being
reconciled to Him!
Supplementary Text
“For
the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom: But we preach Christ
crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness; But
unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and
the wisdom of God. Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the
weakness of God is stronger than men.” 1 Corinthians 1v22-25 (KJV)
Prayer
Father,
we thank You so very much for the salvation of our souls. Thank You because we
are Yours. We pray for those who are perishing and do not know You. Father,

gospel shine into their hearts in Jesus name, amen. Please give Your church the
power, boldness, and utterance to preach the cross unashamedly. Please fill us
afresh with Your Spirit. We pray for the missionaries and those being
persecuted and in prison because of the gospel. Please strengthen them Lord.
