Peace in trouble
Hello
everyone,
How
are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. Happy new
month. May it be a blessed one for you and yours in Jesus name, amen.
Primary Text
“Grace
(favor and spiritual blessing) be to you and [heart] peace from God our Father
and the Lord Jesus Christ.” 1 Corinthians 1v3 (AMP)
In
the world, we have tribulations, troubles, trials, situations that pop up here
and there and threaten to destabilize us, steal our peace and our joy. Our Lord
Jesus however tells us that though we would have tribulations, we should be of
good cheer, He has overcome the world . Thus He says in John 16v33 (AMP) “I
have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace and
confidence. In the world you have tribulation and trials and distress and
frustration; but be of good cheer [take courage; be confident, certain,
undaunted]! For I have overcome the world. [I have deprived it of power to harm
you and have conquered it for you.]” The NLT reads “I have told you all this so
that you may have peace in Me. Here on earth you will have many trials and
sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.” Furthermore, in
John 14v27, Jesus said “Peace I
leave with you; My [own] peace I now give and bequeath to you. Not as the world
gives do I give to you. Do not let not your hearts be troubled, neither let
them be afraid. [Stop allowing yourselves to be agitated and disturbed; and do
not permit yourselves to be fearful and intimidated and cowardly and unsettled.”
John 14v27 (AMP). Child of God, let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts
(Colossians 3v15). What do you then do when you find yourself getting anxious
and unsettled and losing your peace? Well, Philippians 4v6-7 (NLT) says:
Supplementary Text
“Don’t
worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need,
and thank Him for all He has done. Then you will experience God’s peace which
exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds
as you live in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4v6-7 (NLT)
Prayer:
Why don’t you take the time now to pray about things that are troubling you.
