Christ Crucified

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. We thank God for His goodness, faithfulness, lovingkindness, and for the salvation of our souls.

Primary Text
“Is Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you?...” 1 Corinthians 1v13 (KJV)

In this verse, Paul continues his letter to the church in Corinth, following up on how he had heard that there were divisions among them. Verse 12 says “Now this I say, that every one of you saith, I am of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ.” If everyone is expressing their preferences for who they are of [and perhaps one can substitute other names in place of Paul, Apollos, and Cephas], Paul wonders, “Is Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you?” Acts 4v12 (AMP) tells us “And there is salvation in and through no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by and in which we must be saved.” It was Christ who died for us, who has risen for us, He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life, and no one comes to the Father except through Him (John 14v6); He is the One who can save us to the uttermost, Hebrews 7v25 (AMP) telling us “Therefore He is able also to save to the uttermost (completely, perfectly, finally, and for all time and eternity) those who come to God through Him, since He is always living to make petition to God and intercede with Him and intervene for them.” Beloved, Paul, your parents, spouse, child, pastor or any other person didn’t die for you. In fact Romans 5v7-8 (NLT) says “Now, most people would not be willing to die for an upright person, though someone might perhaps be willing to die for a person who is especially good. But God showed His great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.” Hallelujah. Jesus loves you and He cares. He, no one else, paid the price for the salvation of your soul and reconciliation to God.

Supplementary Text
“You’ll remember, friends, that when I first came to you to let you in on God’s master stroke, I didn’t try to impress you with polished speeches and the latest philosophy. I deliberately kept it plain and simple: first Jesus and who He is; then Jesus and what He did – Jesus crucified.” 1 Corinthians 1v1-2 (MSG)

Prayer
