His Return
Hello
everyone,
How
are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. We thank God
for His goodness, His faithfulness, His power and His protection over us.
Primary Text
“Now
you have every spiritual gift you need as you eagerly wait for the return of
our Lord Jesus Christ.” 1 Corinthians 1v7 (NLT)
“Just
think – you don’t need a thing, you’ve got it all! All God’s gifts are right in
front of you as you wait expectantly for our Master Jesus to arrive on the
scene for the Finale.” 1 Corinthians 1v7 (MSG)
“…
while you wait and watch [constantly living in hope] for the coming of our Lord
Jesus Christ and [His] being made visible to all.” 1 Corinthians 1v7 (AMP)
As
we wait for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, for His bride, the Church, we
have every spiritual gift that we need. Beloved, let us not lose sight of the
fact that Jesus is coming back, and He is coming soon. It is easy to get caught
up in the daily lives and troubles of this world, and forget that for us all,
this is just temporal. Eternity is eternal, and one is either going to spend it
reigning with the Lord or in hell. Hebrews 9v27 telling us “And just as it is
appointed for [all] men once to die, and after that the [certain] judgment,”
But as we read through Scripture, for the child of God, the coming of the Lord
Jesus Christ should be something we watch for with eagerness and expectation,
even being able to say “come, Lord Jesus.” (Revelations 22v20). Colossians
3v1-3 (NLT) says “Since you have been raised to new life with Christ, set your
sights on the realities of heaven, where Christ sits in the place of honor at
God’s right hand. Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth.
For you died to this life, and your real life is hidden with Christ in God.”
Supplementary Text
“Husbands,
love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave Himself up for her, So
that He might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with
the Word, That He might present the church to Himself in glorious splendor,
without spot or wrinkle or any such things [that she might be holy and
faultless].” Ephesians 5v25-27 (AMP)
Prayer
Father,
we thank You for Your Word. We thank You for Jesus preparing a place for us,
that where He is we also might be. Father, help us not to be caught up with
this world or entangled with its affairs, but to set our affections on things
above. Help us to be prepared for the return of our Lord Jesus and to look
forward to it. We pray all this in Jesus name, amen.
