The Power of God


Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. We thank God for His grace and mercy over us.

Primary Text
“but to those whom God has called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.” 1 Corinthians 1v24 (NIV)

Hallelujah. To those who are called, we recognize Christ as the power of God and the wisdom of God. To us, it is not foolishness at all. It is wonderful, that through believing in Christ, and accepting God’s way of saving us, which is through faith in Christ Jesus and what He did for us, we are saved. Indeed the Gospel is the power of God unto salvation to everyone who believes, first for the Jew, then for the Gentile (Romans 1v16). We recognize that we are sinners, and we need a Savior. Through believing in Him, we are saved, and are given His Spirit Who begins to transform us from the inside out. There is power in the name of Jesus, Philippians 2v9-11 (NIV) telling us “Therefore God exalted Him to the highest place and gave Him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” There is power in the blood of Jesus. Revelations 12v11 (NIV) says “They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony; they do not love their lives so much as to shrink from death.”

“He came to that which belonged to Him [to His own – His domain, creation, things, world], and they who were His own did not receive Him and did not welcome Him. But to as many as did receive and welcome Him, He gave the authority (power, privilege, right) to become the children of God, that is, to those who believe in (adhere to, trust in, and rely on) His name – Who owe their birth neither to bloods nor to the will of the flesh [that of physical impulse] nor to the will of man [that of a natural father], but to God. [They are born of God!]” John 1v11-13 (AMP)

Prayer
Father, we thank You for this day and for Your Word. Father, we pray according to Ephesians 3v14-19 saying: “For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom His whole family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of His glorious riches He may strengthen you with power through His Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge – that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. This we pray with thanksgiving in Jesus name, amen.
